Repositories such as Curseforge will often have a way to sort by game version when looking at addons. These may not be entirely stable, but at least are designed to work in the intended environment. Addon managers download Release versions by default, unless you've set the manager to do something different.Īlpha and Beta versions are where an addon writer presents upgrades, new features, or new versions for upcoming patches or releases, so these can be tested in PTR/beta environments. The Release (aka Stable) version of an addon is the one that is known to work well with the currently released version of the game. These may already be in your list, or may provide some alternatives to try in the meantime. With every major patch or expansion, there's a period of catch-up for addons where many of your favorites won't work. Nor do all mods break as the result of patch changes.
This isn't to say your favorite mods haven't been updated, or that mod writers aren't currently working on updates. All four have been tested on the PTR and seem to be working normally.
